I think we forgot Eid
Posted Under | All | | Religion |
So "Merry Christmas" everywhere. How many of us even know that the holiday we enjoyed 3 days back was Eid a big festival of muslims. I hardly saw anyone at my workplace, greeting muslims 'Happy Eid' or 'Eid Mubaraq'.

its popular because is Christma$ but Eid is just Eid: very localized when it comes to the financial aspect. Besides, as long that Muslims don't forget to greet one another I think we're good to go.\r
Also, it saves us from having to greet them when it's their festival.\r

Let me make one thing clear. I think its great that Eid is not commercialized the way christmas is. It's sad to see people making money in the name of Christmas.\r
\r
Christmas is not about all the parties and dances. Christmas is about being at home, with the family and spending time with you loved ones.\r
\r
It's sad to see that the people today just use these days to get business.\r
\r
Believe me, christmas is not what you see on the bill boards and newspapers.\r
\r
About, the date. There is not historical record. Besides, I think its just a date fixed so that we dont go on celebrating christmas all around the year.\r
Christianity is all about beleiving what has been told. Its about have a strong faith, not about dates and billboards.\r
\r
And I hope I'm not too late but, EID MUBARAQ guys!!

I was the first person to send a Eid Mubarak greeting on our mailing list, and unfortunately none relied to it. But today everyone has their cricket status as Merry Christmas. Weird.\r
\r
Simple Question any one who are celebrating Christmas on 25th Dec - "Is there any historical or biblical evidence to prove that Jesus(pbuh) was born on 25th Dec?"

This is the Saddest aspect, Christmas & New Year was featured everywhere....From Billboards to Shopping Malls even on local Newspapers...but not Eid....its high time that we give other festivals a chance too esp since Eid is a very significant festival for Muslims. Come On People Lets be Democratic!!!!
